Brief
Our task was to create realistic three walled set of a period living ‘room’ interior in a television studio. The design required in depth research in order for us to be able to identify all aspects of interior design and architecture that visually identified our given period.
I choose Victorian era (1837 - 1901)
We needed to research and analyse:
Cultural landscape of era;
Contemporary art, architecture, design;
Interior design (including floor and wall surfaces), lighting and furniture;
Colours, shapes, patterns and textures.
We needed to consider:
True and accurate or stylised, exaggerated and adapted?
What combination of elements would visually represent the given period?
The access and versatility of our set design for the camera.
TV Studio Facilities:
The studio had a usable floor area of12m X 12m; maximum height is 6m to the lighting grid; white and black cyclorama are available; floors can be painted.
About

I designed a set of Victorian warehouse where worker's rights activists have created their hideout where they can meet, scheme and plot their next actions. Already at the beginning I knew that I wanted to explore stories and adventures of working class citizens as I named them - rebels at heart. Some other ideas I was considering - detectives, criminals, feminists.

Suggestions for next project:
Add notes about possible backing;
Which windows and doors can be removable for greater camera movement;
Elevation lines should not cross measurement lines;
Detail is section therefore it should be hatched;
