Model Making - The Window

Session No. 3

During this workshops we created two windows.

Production design can be very wasteful art therefore as future designer we always need to thing about sustainability ar recycling. We are encoured to always looks out for materials that can be used again. For example, this time for model making we used cards from food packaging.

We started by gluing printouts onto the cards. For this stage it's important to use glue stick not PVA! It took much more time to cut small squares from windows than the door from the previous class. Once that finally was done we started gluing all the frames together. One of the windows was set in the wall, once more I needed to figure out how paper tape hinge works! As finishing touch I changed the window to resemble broken glass. For textures it's always crucial to use reference images!
