Session No. 2
During this very exciting workshop we learned how to cut, glue and therefore create different types of stiches with plastazote.
Overview
That day we created four different examples. When cutting out shapes, we marked them with lines that later helped us glue two side together more precisely. We started by priming them with very thin layer of contact adhesive. When glue was settled and dry to touch we put them together. Butted, bevelled and square edges were rather easy, but to create good curve the layer of glue needed to be nearly fully dry otherwise it pulled apart and didn't look very neat.
To paint plastazote I applied thin layers of glue, after that layer was fully dry I covered sides with acrylic paint that had a drop of latex mixed in. Latex is added to make acrylic paint more flexible and durable.

Chest armour
Most exciting part of that day was creating female chest armour. I'm looking forward to continue this mini project - engrave texture and paint!
During this workshop I also tried out shaping plastazote strip with heat. For this material to maintain wanted shape I needed to hold it until it fully cooled off.
