Life drawing class this Wednesday was last one in term one. I don't think words can express enough how much I enjoy and dearly love these classes. I had a revelation, that these classes are truly me-time when I can relax and let my creativity flow.
This time I came ready to use ned media - pastel crayon and charcoal. I was a bit scared to draw with charcoal as I've never done it before, but I managed to surprise myself and create strokes and sketches I loved. I definitely plan to use accent colour + black combo again and again. When I reflect onto my sketches later, I find that I still struggle with proportion of models head. It's hit or miss, sometime it's the right size and half of the time it's smaller. I think 'life-hack' that I will use next time is to sketch full body first and only then play with the size of a head to determine the right one.
Reflection
I want to shortly reflect onto my progress this term - nine classes total. I learned how to create fluid figure, I've practised enough to determine proportions by just my eyes. I'm proud how I went from spending time on constructing figure from shapes and action line to being able sketch just simple silhouettes. I took risks and explored multiple medias therefore achieving different looks and feelings and it helped me to get even more confident in my abilities and skills.
